Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, Bilal’s life journey includes overcoming incarceration and emerging as a leader in financial literacy, personal growth, and social impact. After serving over two decades in prison, he transformed his experience into a foundation for service — earning his GED, completing a Bachelor’s in Social Work from the University of Cincinnati, and co-founding Baltimore Advocacy for Reconciliation, Inc., a prison think tank that pioneered conflict resolution strategies inside and outside correctional walls.
Today, Bilal is a sought-after speaker, mentor, and workshop facilitator. He has collaborated with educators, policymakers, and community groups to promote financial empowerment, youth mentorship, and second chances for returning citizens. His teachings have been shaped by years of work in social services, grassroots organizing, and civic engagement — including advocacy at the Maryland Statehouse and on the streets during the Baltimore uprising.
Bilal’s voice is clear, urgent, and deeply rooted in both personal transformation and collective progress. Whether he’s leading workshops on credit repair, hosting his Mutual Ground podcast, or speaking to youth, his message remains consistent: we must build — first within, then without.
